I went for a long bike ride today, after an hour of doing yoga and was in need of recovery with protein. Instead of turning the stove on, I turned to my trusty Nutribullet (I'm on my 5th one, since 2012 - that's how much I trust it). I thought to myself, how long it has been since I've actually posted a smoothie recipe. Smoothies are in fact, a part of my daily nutrition. Each and every single day. They remain one of the easiest ways for me to get more than my fair share of fruits, vegetables, fiber, protein, etc on a consistent basis.
When I owned my juice bar, Phyto, I had "Almond Delight" on my smoothie menu. My juice bar was right outside the doors of a basketball court and a short walk to a full-sized gym/recreation center. Phyto was the place to go, for your post workout protein smoothie and each night, I was sure to sell out of ingredients!
Here's what you need for your blender:
- 1 Banana
- 2 Dates
- 1 tbsp Almond Butter
- 1 c Almond Milk
